Unguarded Battlefields: a thesis on culture and civilization, is an essay on contemporary Greece, focusing on its culture before and after the financial crisis. The author examines the local mentality of "fast food, fast read, fast fuck", that the globalized culture of rich and beautiful has helped to be easily planted into the contemporary everyday manners and lifestyle – causing a decline of Greek culture at the end of the 20th and the beginning of 21st century.

The role of the Internet regarded by the author as an immense factory-playground offered as free to go whereas in fact it is not, the role of the Future Library Programme promoted by Google, as well as the way globalized culture has a direct political impact on every single aspect of contemporary life are some of the issues discussed extensively and thorougly in the book.
