This original research explores the creation, the evolution and the status of comics in the culture and society of Greece, focusing especially in the years after 1974.

It is a history and an encyclopedia of Greek comics and, at the same time, a very useful tool for the scholar since it is based on accurate statistical data meticulously gathered by the author himself.

From another point of view, the story of the book is a faithful portrait of cultural and social history of contemporary Greece so that, as most reviewers point out, it can be read as a sociology of the era examined through the comics medium.
