Kourkoutas Ilias |
Ilias Kourkoutas was born in Larissa in 1961. He studied Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his postgraduate studies in Belgium. He earned his PhD from the University of Liège, specialized on psychosis. He was trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy techniques at the Freud Institute of Brussels and at the University of Liège. He has worked as a researcher at the Psychosocial Development and Disorders Department of Professor M. Born and at the Psychodynamic Psychology Department of Professor J. Melon. With the latter he co-directed a series of Clinical Psychoanalysis seminars for about 4 years. He taught at School of Health, Department of Medical Care (Technological Educational Institute of Larissa) for 5 years and since 2003 he is tenured Assistant Professor of Psychology and Special Education at the University of Crete (Department of Primary Education). He has published a book about adolescence titled Adolescent Psychology; Theoretical issues and clinical cases and a second one childhood disorders titled Behavioural problems in Children: School wide and family based Interventions (Ellinika Grammata publications) as well as several articles on related issues in clinical psychology and special education.
