Pelagia had to give up everything. Mathematics, love, her girlish fantasies, the luxury of having dreams of one’s own… She had to work so as to help her family raise her two siblings that were born ten years after she was: Beautiful and unimpaired, the exact opposite of her. Forgetting she was their sister, she became their surrogate mother, even though there was nothing wrong with their own mother.

Pelagia eventually became a woman immune to remorse and all kinds of wishes, hopes and love predicaments. Reaching her sixties with a gammy leg, she endures remarkably well her parting youth. But then she comes to experience, in less than a month, everything she had hoped for in her youth, including all the dangerous repercussions.

Miss Pelagia is a story that takes place in contemporary self absorbed, defensive and melancholic Athens. It is an elegy dedicated to loneliness, the loneliness we find along the way or we carry within our soul.
